Peat

Baltic peat is widely known for its physical, biological, and chemical properties. The climate and geological conditions in these latitudes foster the development of the valuable properties of peat. The most important component of soil is organic substances, which make up the structure of soil and are an essential growth stimulant. Peat ensures high moisture absorbability, air circulation around the plant roots, and low heat conductivity, thus creating optimum conditions for cultivating plants and stimulating development of the root system. Baltic peat ensures the best possible environment for plant development and the formation of a root system.

You can use the peat that we offer as a raw material for producing substrates, as well as to improve the soil in horticulture and agriculture.

We offer high-quality white milled peat, white block peat, dark peat. Products are available in differing fractions.

Upon request, we offer peat with a stabilised pH level (5.5–6.5), and add special supplements/mineral fertiliser according to individual recipes.

  • Packaging: 250L and 6m3 (Big Bale).
  • Fine texture peat

    0-7 mm

  • Fine texture peat

    0-10 mm

Size:0-7 mm, 0-10 mm

Use:

The fine texture ensures a very high level of water retention, which protects the plants from drying out. It is often used as soil to foster sprouting (frequently for automatic sowing lines). Suitable for the reproduction of seed vegetables, trees, decorative plants, as well as for improving other types of soil.

  • Standard-sized peat

    0-20 mm

  • Standard-sized peat

    0-40 mm

Size:0-20 mm, 0-40 mm

Use:

This is the most popular type of peat, which is universal and intended for a broad range of plants and substrates. Standard-sized peat can be used for improving soil or preparing a balanced soil mix, because peat can ensure an optimum water circulation level and drainage.

  • Coarse fraction peat

    7-20 mm

  • Coarse fraction peat

    20-40 mm

  • Coarse fraction peat

    7-15 mm

Size:10-20 mm, 20-40 mm, 7-20 mm block

Use:

This peat is intended for perennial potted plants (trees and shrubs), because they ensure high air capacity. Coarse fraction peat ensures air exchange and drainage of the same level as that which can be achieved with the presence of perlite and vermiculite.

  • Black peat

    0-6 mm

  • Black peat

    0-20 mm

Size:0-6mm, 0-20mm

Use:

Black peat is usually mixed together with other peat/soil types, depending on the intended purpose of use. It is often used for growing mushrooms. This peat is an excellent source of carbon, it has a higher humic acid content and structural stability.
